SAT/ACT Prep

We start with a diagnostic, not a guess

A stronger test score opens doors — better college options and real scholarship money. Shater Learning Center offers focused SAT and ACT prep for El Cajon and East County students, built around a real diagnostic instead of a one-size-fits-all packet.

Every student begins with a full-length practice SAT or ACT. We score it, break down exactly where the points are being lost, and tell you honestly which test plays to your student’s strengths — the digital SAT or the ACT. Then we build a prep plan around that.

What we prep

  • Digital SAT — the adaptive, Bluebook-based format: Reading & Writing and Math modules
  • ACT — English, Math, Reading, Science, and the optional Writing section
  • PSAT/NMSQT — for sophomores and juniors aiming at National Merit
  • Test-taking strategy — pacing, elimination, and calculator/no-calculator technique

Built for East County and Rancho San Diego students

We work with juniors and seniors from Valhalla, Granite Hills, Steele Canyon, Monte Vista, Grossmont, and Christian High — timed to the fall and spring test dates these students actually sit for. Sessions run one-on-one or in small groups at our Jamacha Road center or online over Google Meet.

Frequently asked questions

Should my student take the SAT or the ACT?

That’s exactly what the diagnostic answers. We have students sit a practice section of each and recommend the one where they score — and improve — fastest.

Is the SAT digital now?

Yes. The SAT is fully digital and adaptive, taken in the Bluebook app. Our prep is built around the current format.

Do you offer group SAT/ACT prep?

Yes — small groups are a lower-cost option and work well for students prepping for the same test date.

When should we start?

Ideally 2–3 months before the target test date. Contact us today or Book Now!
