Before we recommend anything, we find out exactly where your student stands. The assessment is free, there’s no obligation, and you leave with something useful either way: a clear picture of what’s working and what needs attention.
In person at our center on Jamacha Road in Rancho San Diego, or online over Google Meet.
What the assessment includes
- SAT & ACT prep: a full-length practice test — the current digital SAT or the ACT — scored and broken down section by section, so you can see exactly where points are being lost
- Math, reading & writing: a skills check that pinpoints the specific gaps — the one concept that slipped early and made everything after it shaky
- Younger learners: a gentle, low-pressure look at where your child is, built for kids who don’t sit standardized tests yet
What you walk away with
- A scored report and a plain-English walkthrough of what it means
- For test prep: an honest recommendation on which test plays to your student’s strengths — the digital SAT or the ACT
- A specific plan if tutoring makes sense — with rates up front on our pricing page, not after a sales pitch
And if the assessment says your student is on track and doesn’t need us? We’ll tell you that too.
How it works
1. Call 619-938-5383 or email us at support@shaterlearningcenter.com to book a free assessment. We’re open Monday–Thursday, 3:30–7:30pm.
2. Take the assessment. At our center — 2990 Jamacha Road #156, El Cajon — or online over Google Meet.
3. Review the results together. We walk you through the report, answer your questions, and recommend next steps.
Whatever comes next, we cover it
If the assessment points to a specific need, we tutor it: math from elementary through AP Calculus, reading and writing, SAT and ACT prep, and more — one-on-one or in small groups, with tutors who know the curricula at Valhalla, Granite Hills, Steele Canyon, and the schools around them.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — free and no obligation. We’d rather show you exactly where your student stands than sell you a package sight unseen.
A full-length practice SAT or ACT takes a few hours, like the real test. A subject skills check is shorter. We’ll tell you exactly what to plan for when you book.
No. The assessment is open to any family, and there’s no commitment attached to it.
Yes — over Google Meet, or in person at our El Cajon center. Whichever fits your schedule.
We review the results with you and recommend next steps. If tutoring makes sense, group sessions are $45/hr and one-on-one is $60/hr — and if your student is on track, we’ll say so.
